Okay, here we go. ^_^

July 4th.

Actually, scratch that. It was July 3rd, I remember.

I worked, except it wasn't very busy at work that night, so I got off around eight o'clock. I decided that I'd drive over to my grandparents to join my family in watching the fireworks from their condo.

Instead of going straight to the condo, however, I decided to stop home and -cough- let the internet know that I wouldn't be on, and grab my camera (thanks to the brilliance of Hood), change out of my work clothes, and burn a cd with pictures on it for my grandfather. It was a twenty mintue drive home from work, so about eight-thirty when I left for my grandparents.

And it's about a half-hour to my grandparents. I hopped on the freeway and realized that there wouldn't be a place for me to park--the condo parking lot fills up because the park is right outside. The city police also close off all the roads that surround the massive condo, so I wouldn't be able to park anywhere near. I couldn't get even to the intersection, but was directed away from the condo by the police (passive voice, by the way, I'm too lazy to fix it. XD). I drove to the end of the really really long road (okay, it's getting late and dark out, and I don't have my glasses, so I can't see road signs and I don't know where in Minnesota I am, so I'm slightly going by my poor directional abilities), and turn around, take several turns and find myself eventually back at the intersection. I stop in the middle of the intersection--sorry, I switched tenses, bad habit. *I stopped in the middle of the intersection and asked the police woman where I should park because I needed to get into /that/ condo. I pointed to the big red building that was in the near distance.

She pointed me to (sorry, random paragraph break) the next stop light, take a right, and to find a parking ramp for one of the business buildings (see, all these buildings are sky scrapers, so it's even harder to see around where you're supposed to be going). I found my way, and went into one of the ramps. Xd My truck barely fit under the seven foot clearance--thankgoodness we didn't have any more lift kits. I had to go all the way to the top of the ramp before I found a spot to park--at the top. -nods-

Then I found my way down the stairs and went to the basement of the parking ramp, wandered around there until I found the exit (a lot of walking), and then walked all the way around the parking ramp, around the giant skyscraper, and finally found my grandparents' condo! Woot! So, usually you have to press a code to get in, or call someone to let you in, but I snuck in with the party of young adults. -snickers.- Silly security.

Anyway. My grandparents and parents insisted on feeding me a /ton/ of food, and I had ran all the way from the parking lot to the condo, probably about a half-mile run in all, because it was dark and just to be safe--I ran. So I was rather puckered out and not very hungry, but ate all that food anyway. (the chocolate cake was very good, but then again, my grandma always has good meals--she's a grandma, for heaven's sake.) While I was in the middle of eating ,we heard the kaboom of the fireworks and all dashed into my grandfather's office to watch them! I pulled out my camera and opened the window...

and here you have it! I like this picture because it's got that sci-fi-ish viridescent glow, murky at the bottom toward the lake. ^_^

Then after the fireworks, I finished eating, ran back to the truck (ecgh, running after stuffing myself like that gave me terrible stomach cramps--nearly so bad that I couldn't walk, but I did make it all the way back to the truck), just to sit in the parking ramp for nearly two hours before we (Megan, Jake and I all went back together) got onto the road and cruised home!

So yeah. ^_^ Sorry I haven't updated in a while--things have been rather hectic. I'm going to quit this elongated break from SuNo and get back to work! (I probably wrote more words here than I could in my story in this amount of time!)

Before and after shorts! I mean shots! Admittedly, long hair was pretty (and I liked the layers I had), but seriously, the short is much easier to take care of, and the ends are all nice and clean! (of course, the lady who cut my hair said she didn't know why I said that I wanted to deadends chopped off because my hair is healthy, but what does she know! I'm no hair expert, but I'm sure I know when my hair is not as healthy as it usually is! Taha!)

Also got some funky coconut leave-in stuff. B) Ze shmell will knock me out one day.

Speaking of which, I ish going to go shower. Not exactly necessary information, but I should be in there rather than sitting here and procrastinating doing anything!

I am, as of last night, living at the new house! ^_^ It is good, and I took pictures of the general area just a few minutes ago. What I really wanted to share, however, was this rug that is in the upstairs bathroom.

B)

Nice, very nice. Is so soft and squishy. XD And looks like dog food or the inside of the small intestines! So it makes me laugh every time I see it. >>

Of course, momma's all, "O.o how do you know what the inside of the small intestines look like?"

And I say, "Well, there was that one Magic School Bus episode...:6:"

Complete with faces, of course. ^_^ (is this appropriate for a -headdesk-?)

So. It's kind of boring here. What do I do? O.o I mean, surely I occupied myself someway else other than playing in ze woods. So there is no woods--Oo! I could go jump in the lake-thing behind our house. ^^ Very nice.

-ahem- Anyway. I really don't have much to update you with. A break from school is nice, but I'm going to have to find myself someway to stay occupied during the summer. Hmm...

Well, I have work tonight, as well as the rest of the long weekend.

Oo! So! Happy Memorial Day Weekend! :)

-ahem-

Firstly, let me make a few disclaimers, or claimers, or both. As I took this photo, it is under my copyright. Being that I took a photo of a painting that is in the public domain, it still is under my copyright. Seeing that I took pictures of two minors without exactly obtaining their permission...they have a couple dibs in it too. (more the guy in with the camera than the guy who is posing, since the former was not aware that he was being photographed.) :6: Blah, blah, blah. Read the fine print.

I really can't remember who painted this mural, but I think it's pretty sweetsauce. We didn't even realize it was a painting at first. The aperature hints and focus levels just about drive me nutty when thinking about /photography/, let alone /painting/ on a canvas.

I took an illegal picture. I was not aware that it was illegal, because they did not have apparent signs in the Minneapolis Institute of Art saying "do not photograph." You had to make a dismeanor before a security guard practically killed you with his eyes and tones and handed you a rules card that says in the fine print "do not take photographs of art that is privately owned and lent to the Institute." Which is ridiculous, because they always put the "lent from..." in small print on the little card thingy on the wall somewhere buried in the explanation of the piece of art. I should file a complaint.

Wow! Long rant! All goes to say, I /really/ /really/ wanted to post the picture here because it was ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS (it included a creepy, giant, Japanese bear-thing statue and my brother doing his strong-man pose, which is enough to make just about anybody crack a grin at the obscenity of the picture).

So. Since it /is/ an illegal picture, I won't be posting it, regretfully. Maybe/if you see me and I have my laptop convenient, I'll show it to you.

Anyway. Today's sister-mine's graduation, so I will be attempting to take pictures (not sure how well that will work out--my camera is running out of juice, and I can't find my charger >.<). We have to leave in a few minutes here, so I flee!

;-)

This would be a snapshot--a "candid" picture, if you were--of my computer. It's a pretty stereotypical one. I've got me cleanplace, DKP, course site, and, of course, Photograph Alley here. ^_^ Also doing some sneaky catch-up on a little bit of chat I missed last night. :P Discovered new, fancy chat tool recently? YES! -loves it-

So. I think I've also got YIM and a writing/squabbling folder open there (because that's what I have open now)--but the thumbnail flickr is showing me is too small to tell.

Yeah, hehe. Vista.

[/talking about computer]

O.o I was strangely grumpy last night, which is totally not like me. Rawr. How annoying. :P I is better now. Es la fin de semana. << I have to work long shifts the next three days. >> Tons of finals to study for. <<

Elbow Room...?

Elbow Room...?

They (the unspecified corner of the internet) didn't tell me whose quote that is.

This morning, I was looking through my recent pictures--and found that there were none that were acceptable to post! (Grady doesn't appreciate pictures of him scattered across cyberland, and he is my favorite available subject--I love taking pictures of people.)

So. This here you see (picture taken just an hour ago, finally uploaded) is my newest dwelling place--the basement. It looks pretty empty--sheetrock walls, virtually no ceiling--well, let's just say the ceiling is the floor of the 1st level. Old carpet on top of an even older carpet on top of cement. But even with all that empty space--the place is brilliant, but for no doors. >.< People just walk down on me at all hours of the day...and night.

Anyway! The little guy you see at the corner of my bed under the lamp is Bud Dog! :woot: -ahem- Yes, the t-shirt he's wearing (painted on t-shirt, not real) says "Bud Light," which is, admittedly--well, we'll just ignore that. But we've had him forever (my dad got it from his company a loooong time ago). He is not just unusually white--he lights up. ^_^ Makes for good company.

Anyway. Last night, once again, I was booted off the computer at 10 o'clock. And...I'm not used to that--usually I'm up for a few more hours at least, so I was sitting down there with virtually nothing to do. It was weird. O.o

:6: And extremely tempting to go snatch my computer from upstairs--and would have been easily accomplished, but I resisted. :P Instead, for the first hour aloneness, I sat and just...thought (imagine that!). Tried to sort out some emotions (quite unsuccessfully) and narrow down /exactly/ what I was feeling...(also unsuccessfully). The second hour I completely used (per usual) to study The Word. ^--Hoapsdf

Mrak! There's an ant in my keyboard! -wince- I hope I don't squish it in there... That would be icky to try to clean out.

--as I was saying, ^_^ I'm reading Hosea.

Yeah, so...I've been antsy all day (no pun intended), and slightly squeamish. I don't know what's wrong with me. Maybe it's just spring fever...or stress of trying to get school done. >.< Or both. Or something else entirely, which I may pin it down to...Rawr. It's making me shaky.

So. Just the several minutes ago, I had to drive Grady to work (we actually had to leave at 10:00). Since he had to do the dishes, we didn't get out of the driveway until 10:26. Now understand this--usually it takes 15 minutes to get to his work place. He had to be at work at 10:30. The least amount of time it takes us to get there is 12 minutes. Well, I know I didn't speed at all, but maybe I hit all the green lights? 0o;; I got there at 10:34...a whopping eight minutes.

Yeah. So we'll see how the day goes. I think I may need to break from DKP, but seriously...I don't think I will. I'm just...-rubs forehead- Confused, maybe.

Haha, confused. I bet this is a confusing post. And extremely long. << I'm sorry!

^_^ And those in the shadow, left-hand lower corner, are my sweet photogenic shoes. (me, not so much :P) You probably have to click the picture to enlarge and see them, though.

-ahem- And yes, I did wear them trekking through the woods and mud.

Anyway--kudos to Grady--he took the picture! Quite the budding photographer he is. B) I taught him well.

My bag, by the way, was so bulgy because I had so much stuff stuck in it--like a sweatshirt ((it ended up being really really warm in the sun--80 degrees?)) and my SRL camera, among other neccessities to survive...like textbooks. -ahem-

So! I'd better scram and get my school done! :woot:

Amazing Hobo Man

Amazing Hobo Man
Originally uploaded by mylla7777

Okay. BEST DAY EVER!

Because?

Of the hobo man. He made my day. ^_^

So Grady needed to go out on a photo splurge for his Final Project in Photography. I took him out to Minnehaha Falls. There, at the road above the falls, was Hobo Man playing his violin ((he was absolutely amazing, by the way--much, much better than I am)). I was totally saying to Grady, "WE HAVE TO TAKE HIS PICTURE!!! HE IS SO COOL!!!"

But Grady was all "O.o You're weird--why do you want pictures of a hobo man?"

And thus, we did not take pictures of him then. So we went along the river and had fun taking other pictures...

But then we came back ((our meter had expired! XD)) and I /had/ to take his picture...he is so cool...and was begging Grady to ask if I could take his picture ((totally silly of me, but Grady is the one taking Photography)). He refused, but offered to pay me money to give to the guy to take his picture. Well, no, I have money...

So I went up to the Hobo Man, who was singing at the moment.

Mylla: "Sir, may I take your picture?" -lays money in violin case-

Hobo Man: "Sure!" -says something I can't remember, but was so nice and polite-

Mylla: -starts taking pictures-

Hobo Man: -makes funny faces and engages Mylla in fun conversation-

Mylla: "Must run--our meter is out of money! Thank you so much!" -dashes off, squeeing to Grady, who had been hanging ((quite manfully of him <<)) behind, letting me talk to the Hobo Man alone.

Then I brought Grady to Dairy Queen. ^_^ We got the cheapest thing there ((I was running out of money)).

The End.

BRILLIANT!

^_^ Anyway. We are officially moving, in case you haven't heard. Half of the items in my closet have been transferred, even though my sister and I are still lacking our new furniture. All of the stuff in our basement is now moved into the new one ((after significant quantity depletion)).

Going through the house once more, you could hear the children ((er, yes, that's what we call ourselves :P)) muttering things such as: "Very nice.../very/ nice. I approve..mhmm...--O.o Wait, you guys bought /that/ magazine?! ...EH?!" Much to that effect, anyhow. We bought the model home and everything in it, minus the plastic avacados.

This picture above ((sorry, took me a while to get to explaining it)) was taken from inside the shelving pole. XD My duty was to rinse off our shelves ((had to take them apart too!)) outside with the hose. I peeked in one--and /had/ to get my camera. It was pretty amazing. B) I just had a hard time getting the aperature correct. << That thing /still/ didn't want to focus when I took the picture ((and I ended up manually having to focus it)). :6: I realize that the title is rather anti-climatic, since vortex implies grand--and droplets are quite the opposite. Well, points for silly. :P

...I used a lot of parenthesis in this post, didn't I? :P Just ignore my multifaceted annoying habits.

These were a couple houses we found around Pensacola beach. The one on the right is a big round dome on the back, and facing the ocean on the front. ((the island is not more than a mile wide, but very long--perhaps 40 miles))

The one on the left looks like these people are...eh, extraterrestrial. If you look closely, you can see little stuffed aliens in the window! ^_^ ...O.o I think they're ready for the next hurricane to wisk them up to space.

Anyway. I have a "prom" tonight--which is even scarier than whoever lives in those houses. I have absolutely nothing cool to wear, since I can't wear jeans. :P I'm probably going to end up just wearing a black skirt , black boots, and a black shirt and be the Photographer. B) ((I'm my sister's date XD)) I'll post pictures, I think!

My family went on a trip to florida to scope out colleges. Okay. Hands down. The weather was LOVELY. Not too hot, not too cold. Juuuust right.

Anyway. I have a lot to think about after that trip. Whatever my decision for the next year, it's going to impact the rest of my life. Admittedly, I'm not exactly apathetic about this--scared, more like it. On the bridge of being strongly encouraged to go to this place for the next four years or not having any other choice. Yeah. So enough about that.

Anyway. My brother was kindly posing again for pictures--and telling me to get my reflection in his lenses. I thought the shot turned out pretty cool. Just for the record? I love my camera. I don't know how many times I can say that.

The quote is from John Locke, and I'm not exactly sure the context of it. "Reverie is when ideas float in our mind without reflection or regard of the understanding." At this time of night, I gave up trying to figure out what it meant. It seemed smooth enough to put on a picture, though. John Locke, for your little pop quiz, is the man from whom the Founding Fathers of the United States of America recieved many of their beliefs and some things in the Constitution are almost direct quotes of his!

Pop quiz over. I'm tired and have a long day ahead of me! But at least I blogged, right?

...I love my camera...

The snow sticking to our trees in the winterwonderland we live in was so beautiful--and you know me--I had to go take pictures. As I don't appreciate scenery shots, I decided to upload this one, because it has amazing layers and proportions. :6: Yeah, don't ever expect to see the whole picture of anything (although this is the whole picture; it's not the whole tree, that's what I mean), because I like to crop crop crop in to get an interesting angle/shot!

Anyway. Working on a paper is what I should be doing right now.

If I do well, I'll let you know my score. If I don't--you'll never hear about it again. Well, that is, until I retake it.

Yeah. Long day. I didn't work today, but I worked a tiring shift last night--got up early for the ACT, going to bed soon to get up even earlier to go to Worship practice at church. Eck. Monday I have a job interview and go to work. I also have to finish a paper I should have had done last week. Argh. Where is my motivation going? I need help!

Third--charming.

Oil Well
Originally uploaded by mylla7777

In case you're interested, yesterday our plumbing stopped working.

Our well broke.

Guess which lucky family member discovered it?
That's right. I did.
Guess how.
By taking a shower. Lovely.
It was about 1/2 hour before I would leave for work. I typically just take a shower before work and head off, all shiney clean. Yes, it's a bit of a time-crunch, but I've made it a form of art. So I went to shower--no water came out of the faucet. O.o I ran through the house, seeing if we had the washing machine running or anything--no, but the basement sink still worked! I decided I would just wash my hair in there. Easy. So down I went with my shampoo.

As soon as I dampened my hair and put the shampoo in, the water cut out of the sink. Heh. Not much I could do. I blow-dried it and put it in a pony tail and ran off to work.

Came home. Still no water.

Anyway. This morning around 8 two guys came out--The Well Guys, as I've referred to them as--to fix our system. Apparently our well is really old and a whole bunch of the piping needed replacement.

What you see in this picture here is our well (the little stump-thing in the dark puddle on the right). One of the pipes is sticking up--that hook above it is a really tall crane. The pipe curves and pumps out into a bucket.

Okay, the bucket failed.

We struck gold--oil!

...erm, actually, that's the sewage system. Insert palmface. There goes our grass, or what little there was of it.

Now we've waited all day, waiting for the water to turn clean and clear. It finally has. Insert insane relieved-screaming of bathroom-deprived children. I'm not sure if it really works yet--I haven't tested it out. The pressure is not very good, so something is wrong. But hey, little water is better than no toilets.

Dipping my toes in the water...

I've decided to post a new blog--

As you can guess by the title, I'm going to randomly upload my pictures that I took during the day/week/month/whatever picture is currently available.

Kinks (spelling?) are being worked out right now with the template, so some of the items may be screwy. We'll see if I can get something to work right in that note-space to the left of this post. I tried before--but it didn't work. O.o

Anyhoodles. I have a head cold and it's driving me nutty (well, even more nutty). My momma was kind enough to make some tea with lemon. :pom:

After I post this I'll find something creative to take a picture of and add it here...

This is just some colored-pencils on my dresser. Well, hey, I thought they looked pretty.
